Applied Alternative Fuel Analysis Training Course

TÜRKÇİMENTO R&D Institute was organized “Applied Alternative Fuel Analysis Training Course” on 10.11.2023- 17.11.2023-01.12.2023 ve 25.12.2023 in TÜRKÇİMENTO R&D Institute Campus. 28 sector employees from 16 cement factories were attended the training.

During the training, the stages of analysis of solid and liquid alternative fuels (sewage sludge, End-of-Life Tire, SRF etc.) which are widely used in the cement sector, were explained practically by Fuel Analyses Laboratory staff, Dr. Elif PELVAN, Begüm Çetinel Külcü and Merve YILDIRIM. Within the scope of the training, the applications of the following standards were explained in detail;

TS EN ISO 21660-3 Solid recovered fuels - Determination of moisture content using the oven dry method - Part 3: Moisture in general analysis sample

TS EN ISO 22167 Solid recovered fuels - Determination of content of volatile matter

TS EN ISO 21656 Solid recovered fuels - Determination of ash content

TS EN ISO 21663 Solid recovered fuels - Methods for the determination of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), nitrogen (N) and sulphur (S) by the instrumental method

TS EN 15408 Solid recovered fuels - Methods for the determination of sulphur (S), chlorine (Cl), fluorine (F) and bromine (Br) content

TS EN 15411 Solid recovered fuels - Methods for the determination of the content of trace elements (As, Ba, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mo, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Tl, V and Zn)

During the training, different sample preparation and analysis techniques were applied separately for End-of-Life Tire, SRF and liquid waste. The aim of the training is to eliminate differences in practice. The same analyzes were carried out simultaneously in the laboratory with the participants who wished, and their results were compared. At the end of the training, knowledge and experience were shared with the participants.
